Obviously the iPhone (and iPod Touch) is more than a simple communications device. It’s a full fledged computing platform. But until third party applications were available for it, the device failed to live up to its potential. Now, with the release of the 2.0 firmware and the opening of the Apple Applications Store, it’s finally a complete product. I’ve already downloaded a half dozen new applications for it. My iPhone is now the PDA/phone/media player I’ve wanted it to be from day one.
